උතුරු නැගෙනහිර පළාත් සභාවේ පළමු මහ ඇමතිවරයා ලෙස කටයුතු කළ ඊ.පී.ආර්.එල්.එෆ්. පක්‍ෂයේ වර්ධරාජා පෙරුමාල් දෙමළ ජාතික සන්ධානය සමඟ එක වන බව සඳහන් වේ.  ඊ.පී.ආර්.එල්.එෆ්. පක්‍ෂයේ ආරම්භක නායකයෙකු වන වර්ධරාජා පෙරුමාල් මේ වන විටත්  ඊ.පී.ආර්.එල්.එෆ් පක්‍ෂයේ සාමාජිකයෙකු වුවත් ඔහු ක්‍රියාකාරී දේශපාලනයේ යෙදෙන්නේ නැත.

TNA sources say that, he will contest for the TNA’s chief ministerial candidate at a future provincial council election.
