රා මැඳීමට යොදගනු ලබන පොල් හා තල් ගස් සඳහා බලපත්‍ර ලබාගත යුතු බවට සුරාබදු ආඥා පනත සංශෝධනය කිරීම සඳහා මුදල් හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මංගල සමරවීර මහතා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාවක් කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කොට ඇත.
එහෙත් කිතුල් ගස් සඳහා බලපත්‍ර ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය නොවේ.
කෘත්‍රීම රා ඇතුළු අනෙකුත් නීති විරෝධී රා නිෂ්පාදන වැළැක්වීම සඳහා සකස් කොට ඇති සුරාබදු (සංශෝධන) පනත් කෙටුම්පත රජයේ ගැසට් පත්‍ර යේ පළ කිරීමෙන් පසු අනුමැතිය සඳහා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම පිණිස ඉදිරිපත් වූ මෙම යෝජනාව කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය අනුමත කර ඇත.
වර්ථමානයේ දී කිතුල්, තල් සහ පොල් යන ගස්වලින් රා බැඳීම් හෝ රා බෑමට බලපත්‍ර ලබාගත යුතු නොවේ. මේ හේතුවෙන් ස්කාගාර, රා තැබෑරුම්, බෝතල් රා නිෂ්පාදනාගාර හා විනාකිරි නිෂ්පාදනාගාර වෙත ලැබෙන රා ප්‍රමාණය අධීක්ෂණය කිරීමේ ගැටලුවක් මතු වී ඇත.
