The foreign journalist was obstructed by the navy.

As a photojournalist, I was stopped by the Navy at Mungaveli when I came to Iranativu Island. I had taken legal permission to do my necessary work in Sri Lanka.
I arrived at 7.15 am and was kept until 12.00 noon. I must have sent about a dozen emails to the relevant authorities during that time. They always gave me wrong email addresses.
An hour later, with the help of human rights activists and the Ministry of Home Affairs, I was allowed to go to Iranativ Island. Within those 6 hours I sent about 15 emails with about 50 phone calls. The Navy advised me not to tweet about this. — Elke Scholiers
