සමානුපාතික ක්‍රමයට තෝරා ගන්නා සභිකයින් ගනනට අදාළ ගැසට් පත්‍රය නිකුත් වන තුරු පළාත් පාලන ඡන්දය පැවැත්විය නොහැකි බවත් අදාළ ගැසට් පත්‍රය 9 වනදා වන විට පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කරන බව දන්වා ඇති බවටත් මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස් මහින්ද දේශප්‍රිය විශ්වාසය පළකල බව සදහන්ය.
කොට්ඨාස ක්‍රමයට 60% කද සමානුපාතික ක්‍රමයට 40% ද පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණය සදහා සභිකයින් තෝරා ගැනීමට නියමිත අතර, සභිකයින් ගනන ගැසට් වුවහොත් දින 70 ක් තුල මැතිවරණය පැවැත්විය හැකි බව ඔහු ප්‍රකාශ කල බව සදහන්වේ. තවද ජනවාරි 6 ඡන්දය පැවැත්වීමට දැනට තීරණය කර ඇති බවද මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස්වරයා සදහන් කර ඇත.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has said that the election of the gazette will not be held until the gazette notice is issued and the gazette will be presented to the parliament by the 9th of this month.
He added that 40% of voters in the division will be elected to the Local Government Election and that if the gazettes are numbered, he will announce the election within 70 days. The Elections Commissioner has further stated that they have decided to conduct the election on January 6.
