Pakistan judges receive letters containing poisonous powder.

Foreign media reported that six judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, eight judges of the Islamabad High Court and six judges of the Lahore High Court received letters containing a poisonous drug in recent days. Foreign media also reported that the Lahore High Court has introduced a new system to ensure their safety. Accordingly, it is reported that steps have been taken to check the letters received by the judges from now on in an office headed by Deputy Superintendents of Police before handing them over to their officials.

A certain postman who delivered such letters has stated that delivering letters is a routine task. He reportedly told the police that he did not know what was in the envelope. However, it is further reported that all postmen have been instructed to wear face masks and gloves for the safety of delivering letters, and it has been further reported that judges and diplomatic officials have been ordered to carefully check the letters received.
